Ships are advised against sailing through the Great Belt strait as a precautionary measure, following a technical malfunction on a Danish navy vessel. The Danish armed forces reported that a Harpoon missile launcher on board the frigate HDMS Niels Juel experienced an issue during a test at the Korsoer naval base. Due to the risk of potential missile fragments, the National Maritime Authority warned against maritime traffic in the area. The military stated that the launcher could not be deactivated, posing a risk of unintended missile firing. A military drill is currently underway in the Storebaelt strait, with the danger zone extending up to seven kilometers from Korsoer at a height of approximately one kilometer. Despite the closure of airspace and shipping traffic, the bridge and tunnel crossing the Storebaelt remain unaffected.
