BENGALURU: Pakistan have won the toss and elected to field first against New Zealand in the must-win game played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra has scored his fifth fifty of the tournament, while captain Kane Williamson has also reached a half-century, putting Pakistan in a tough position.

Pakistan has made one change by bringing in Hassan Ali in place of Usama Mir, while New Zealand has made three changes in their squad.

New Zealand’s Kane Williamson is back from injury and is leading his side against Pakistan in a crucial league match.

In addition to Williamson, New Zealand has included spinner Ish Sodhi in place of injured seamer Matt Henry, while Will Young has been replaced by the skipper and Mark Chapman has replaced James Neesham.

Pakistan medium pace bowler Hasan Ali took his 100th one-day international wicket during the World Cup clash against New Zealand in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The 29-year-old dismissed New Zealand opener Devon Conway for 35 in the 11th over to reach this milestone in his 66th match.

Hasan Ali is the 22nd bowler from Pakistan to achieve 100 or more ODI wickets, with legendary left-armer Wasim Akram leading the way with 502 wickets in 356 matches.

New Zealand has four wins and three defeats, with their latest loss being a 190-run defeat against South Africa, raising doubts about their capabilities.

On the other hand, Pakistan revived their campaign with a much-needed seven-wicket victory against Bangladesh, who had already been eliminated.

New Zealand is currently fourth in the 10-team table with eight points, while Pakistan, with six points, needs a win to stay in contention for a semi-final place.
