Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has completed preparations to present the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. According to details, the budget for the new fiscal year 2025-2024 will be presented in the assembly session at three o’clock on May 24. Before the approval of the budget, a cabinet meeting will also be held on May 24, after which it will be presented in the assembly. The cabinet meeting will approve the annual development program, finance bill, and recommendations of the provincial finance commission. Provincial Finance Minister Aftab Alam stated that for the first time in the country’s history, the provincial government is presenting the budget before the federal government, and hopes that the opposition will engage in positive discussions about the budget instead of criticism.
