The home of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Usman Dar’s mother was reportedly raided by Sialkot police, who allegedly disrespected the women present. In a video message posted on social media, Usman Dar’s mother accused the raid of being orchestrated by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khawaja Asif and claimed that they were humiliated by the raiding police party.

In response, Khawaja Asif served a Rs1 billion damages notice to Usman Dar and one rupee to his mother, Rehana Dar, demanding payment within 14 days. Usman Dar’s mother alleged that Khawaja Asif’s actions were meant to prevent her from contesting general elections against him and appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa to intervene.

It is important to note that, after a crackdown on PTI workers following May 9 vandalism, police also raided the Dar brothers’ house in Sialkot, and reports of mistreatment of females also emerged. Following backlash, the then-defence minister Khawaja Asif apologized for the mistreatment of women during the raids against PTI leaders following the violent protests.
