The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the South Police has registered a case against unknown terrorists for the bomb blast outside the office of the Provincial Election Commission in Saddar, Karachi. The case includes charges under the Explosive Substances Act of 1924 and the Prevention of Terrorism Act. According to the claimant, on Thursday night, a bomb exploded on the footpath in front of the Election Commission office on Iraq Road at 8 o’clock. Immediately upon receiving the information, they arrived at the scene with other personnel and requested the bomb disposal unit and the crime scene unit. The bomb disposal unit collected evidence and found a timer device and a 12-volt battery at the scene, along with a homemade detonator containing a timer device.
According to the claimant, the explosion was carried out with the intention of terrorism, and the CTD police have started legal action by registering a case against unknown suspects for the blast using the timer device.
