Javed Sheikh, a renowned film and TV actor from Pakistan, recently expressed his regret over his divorce from his first wife, Zeenat Mangi. The couple shares two children.
In a recent appearance on a morning show, Javed Sheikh opened up about the “biggest guilt” of his life, reflecting on his divorce from his first wife and the mother of his children, Shehzad and Momal.
“My divorce is something I deeply regret. It should never have happened, and I wish it didn’t,” confessed Sheikh.
“Sadly, I never wanted to separate from my wife and our children. Shehzad and Momal had to endure a lot because of it. My children were away from me for three years while I was married to Salma Agha. However, even in a broken family, the way they stayed strong was commendable, and credit goes to their mother,” added the ‘Samjhota’ actor, acknowledging his ex-wife.
“The credit for maintaining family bonding despite the broken family goes to my ex-wife. She would ensure that they spent quality time with their dad. My children, Saleem’s [Sheikh] children, Behroz [Sabzwari], and my other siblings’ children would gather at our place,” he explained.
Despite his regrets, Sheikh expressed gratitude for the strong bond he now shares with his children, who now have children of their own and affectionately refer to him as ‘Bani’. “It’s a mix of Dada, Baba, and Nana. When I think of a nana or dada, I imagine an old man with a long beard holding a stick. So, I’m Bani for them,” he humorously shared.
