Judge Arthur Engoron has ruled that Ivanka Trump must testify in a civil fraud trial involving her father, brothers, and family business. New York state lawyers argued that Ivanka was a relevant witness in the case, and the judge agreed, citing her continued ties to businesses in New York and ownership of Manhattan apartments. The trial, led by state Attorney General Letitia James, accuses the Trumps and Trump Organization executives of misleading investors. Ivanka’s lawyers claimed she left the organization and New York in 2017, but the state lawyers argued she still had relevant information as a former executive vice president. Judge Engoron also fined Donald Trump $10,000 for violating a gag order.
