Washington: American media has claimed that Israel and Hamas are close to a written agreement regarding the release of prisoners and ceasefire negotiations.

The New York Times revealed in its report that in the truce currently under negotiation between Hamas and Israel, a written agreement is being worked on in the presence of the US which could be announced within two weeks.

The American newspaper claims that under this agreement, Hamas will gradually release over 100 prisoners, while Israel will cease military operations for two months.

This written agreement will be announced in two weeks, after which a solution to the conflict in Palestine and the hope for complete peace in Gaza can be expected. Along with America, Egypt and Qatar have also played an important role in this agreement.

US President Joe Biden confirmed in a media interview that he had sent CIA director William J. Burns to meet with leaders in Egypt and Qatar to reduce obstacles to the agreement.

If this tour is successful, US President Biden can also send Middle East Coordinator Brett McGurk for help in finalizing the agreement.

It should be noted that last November, as a result of efforts by the US, Qatar, and Egypt, an almost 7-day ceasefire was reached, during which over 100 Israeli prisoners and 240 Palestinian detainees were released.

Hamas still has 136 prisoners, 6 of whom are American citizens, but there is also concern that out of these 136 prisoners, 2 have been killed in Israeli shelling.

According to the claims of the New York Times, under the new agreement, fighting will stop for almost 30 days in the first phase, and ceasefire will be extended for another month in the second phase.
