Fourteen soldiers of the Pakistan Army were killed in an ambush by terrorists in the Gwadar district of Balochistan, according to the military’s media affairs wing. The incident occurred when the vehicles, en route from Pasni to Ormara, were attacked. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that a sanitization operation is underway in the area to bring the perpetrators to justice. The Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani, condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with the families of the martyred and injured soldiers. Balochistan’s interim Chief Minister, Ali Mardan Khan Domki, also condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly act. PPP Chairman Bilawal-Bhutto Zardari and Sherry Rehman, both paid tribute to the martyred soldiers and vowed to continue the fight against terrorism until the last militant is eradicated. This incident comes after a bomb blast targeting police in Dera Ismail Khan, which killed five people and left over 20 injured. Pakistan has recently witnessed an increase in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
