A residential building in the Mazzeh neighborhood of Damascus, Syria’s capital, was struck by an air raid that resulted in the deaths of several individuals.
In a statement, the IRGC confirmed that the attack, carried out by Israeli fighter jets, resulted in the deaths of “a number of Syrian forces and four military advisers.” The deceased IRGC members were later identified as Hojjatollah Omidvar, Ali Aghazadeh, Hossein Mohammadi, and Saied Karimi, although their ranks were not disclosed. Iran’s foreign ministry also held Israel responsible for the strike and stated that it reserved the right to retaliate. Israel has not yet issued a response to the accusations.
The attack is believed to have involved at least four missiles, as reported by Iranian state media. This incident occurred amidst escalating tensions in the region and the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza, which has resulted in the deaths of nearly 25,000 people.
