Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is laid to rest in Mashhad, attended by thousands of people

Mashhad: Former Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, who was killed in a helicopter accident, was laid to rest in the shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad. Upon arrival of Ibrahim Raisi’s body in Mashhad, millions of citizens took to the streets and bid farewell to the former president emotionally, while funeral processions were also held in different areas.

According to reports from Iranian news agencies, over thirty million citizens participated in Ibrahim Raisi’s funeral, including young people, elderly people, women, and children from various nationalities. Ibrahim Raisi was laid to rest with official honors in the shrine of Imam Reza, which was a deeply emotional sight for all those present. It should be noted that just a day before, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led the funeral prayers for Ibrahim Raisi and others killed in the helicopter accident in Tabriz, which was attended by thousands of people.

It should be noted that Ibrahim Raisi, along with other individuals including Iranian Foreign Minister, perished in the helicopter accident on Sunday, where all individuals lost their lives.
