Chennai: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sun Risers Hyderabad by eight wickets to claim the title of IPL 2024.

In the final of the Indian Premier League 2024 played in Chennai, Sun Risers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bat first, a decision that proved incorrect as the team could only manage to score 113 runs in 18.3 overs.

This was the lowest score in the 17-year history of the tournament.

In response, Kolkata Knight Riders achieved the target of 114 runs with just two wickets lost in 10.3 overs.

For KKR, Venkatesh Iyer played aggressively and scored a half-century off just 24 balls, remaining not out with 52 runs.

It is evident that Kolkata Knight Riders have been successful in lifting the IPL trophy for the third time, previously winning under Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy in IPL 2012 and 2014.
