Inzamamul Haq, the chief selector of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, announced his decision to step down from his position. During an interview on the SAMAA TV programme ‘Zor Ka Jor,’ Haq confirmed that he went to the Pakistan Cricket Board to address allegations that he had a conversation with them. He requested an inquiry to clear any doubts. Subsequently, a five-member committee was formed, leading Haq to step down until the probe is completed. He expressed his willingness to cooperate with the board once the inquiry concludes. Haq had previously served as chief selector from 2016 to 2019 and returned to the position on August 7. The resignation comes as the national team faces criticism for their poor performance in the World Cup, with consecutive losses after initial victories.
