Imran Khan Death Penalty in Cipher Case? Can Pakistan’s power drunk generals do such a horrible crime against Pakistan? Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, twice popularly elected PM, was hanged by a military regime in 1979. Since then it was received logic that such a crime against people, democracy and public consciousness can’t happen again and that country has changed. Most still believe the same.
But Pakistan has regressed terribly in the last 22 months and anything horrible can happen in this country. After all Benazir was murdered in December 2007.
But still what’s the desperation in moving so fast with this case? What the regime will achieve in announcing this verdict or even life imprisonment on Feb 5, before the dummy Elections? What do they want to achieve?
