The Balochistan High Court has ordered the immediate suspension of four Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in connection with the alleged extra-judicial killing of a Baloch youth in Kech district’s Turbat. The CTD had claimed that the killing was a result of armed clashes with militants, but the family of the deceased refuted these claims and accused the CTD of extrajudicially killing him. After protests and a court directive, an FIR was finally lodged against the four CTD officials. The high court has ordered for the cases to be transferred to the Crimes Branch Police Quetta for a fair investigation and has also ordered the immediate suspension of the CTD personnel involved.
