Indian vice-captain Hardik Pandya will be out for the rest of the 2023 Cricket World Cup due to an ankle injury. The injury occurred during a match against Bangladesh on October 19 when Pandya tried to stop the ball with his left foot while bowling. As a result, fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been called up to replace him. Pandya expressed his disappointment about missing the rest of the tournament but assured his full support for the team. Despite his absence, India has been successful, winning matches against England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. Mohammed Shami has performed well as a replacement, taking 14 wickets in those matches. Krishna, with 33 wickets in his international career, will now have an opportunity to contribute to the team’s success.
