A protest against the Israeli assault in Gaza resulted in an unknown number of people being held hostage at a Procter & Gamble plant near Istanbul on Thursday, according to a police spokesman. The plant, located on the eastern outskirts of Turkey’s largest city, was surrounded by police and special operation forces were dispatched to the scene. An unidentified man carrying a gun entered the factory and set off the incident. The health ministry in Gaza reported that the conflict has resulted in over 27,000 deaths and 66,000 injuries in nearly four months.
