New Delhi: Former Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s deep fake video created with artificial intelligence (AI) has gone viral.
The viral deep fake video on social media shows the legendary cricketer endorsing a gaming app that supposedly helps people earn money.
Anyone can easily fall for the deception after hearing Sachin Tendulkar’s voice in the video, where he claims that his daughter is making good money from this gaming app and encourages others to play games on it and earn money too.
Sachin Tendulkar posted on Twitter, warning people about this fake video and requesting them to report it and the app as well.
He emphasized that these videos are fake and the irresponsible misuse of technology is distressing. He urged everyone to report such videos, advertisements, and apps in large numbers.
Tendulkar also highlighted the need for social media platforms to be vigilant and responsive to complaints, as swift action from their end is crucial to stop the spread of misinformation and fake videos.
It is evident that the spread of false information through deep fake videos on social media has become a major cause for concern worldwide, with several such incidents recently occurring in India.
In the past, Bollywood actresses like Raveena Tandon, Katrina Kaif, Kajol, and Alia Bhatt had their inappropriate deep fake videos go viral on social media, and Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar and Indian cricketer Shubman Gill also had their fake images circulated publicly.
