England fast bowler David Willey has announced that he will retire from international cricket after the ICC World Cup 2023 in India. The 33-year-old was not offered a central contract by the English cricket board and will now be able to play in various franchise-based leagues around the world. Willey, who has played 70 one-dayers and 43 T20 Internationals since his England debut in 2015, expressed his pride in representing his country and thanked his teammates for being part of an incredible white-ball team. He clarified that his decision to retire is not related to England’s performance in the World Cup and he still believes he has more to offer on and off the field.
