Riyadh: A PIA Hajj flight had to make an emergency landing in the Saudi city of Riyadh. According to a spokesperson of PIA, the national airline’s Hajj flight PK 839 had departed from Karachi for Jeddah at 10 pm carrying pilgrims, but had to make an emergency landing at Riyadh’s airport.
Unusual sounds were heard during the flight, prompting the aircraft to change course from Jeddah to Riyadh Airport due to the sounds in the aircraft system. The aircraft had to make an emergency landing, after which all passengers were disembarked and transferred to the lounge.
According to the spokesperson, during the flight PK 839, a high temperature warning was issued in the cargo cabin, leading to the aircraft being landed at Riyadh Airport. After a thorough inspection, it was found that the high temperature warning was false, and after a quick check, flight PK 839 was again headed towards Jeddah.
