The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Balochistan has intensified its crackdown on violations of the election code of conduct in Quetta, as reported by the Provincial Election Commissioner’s spokesperson.
Following the directives of Quetta’s District Monitoring Officer, the election monitoring teams and district administration conducted a large-scale operation to remove illegal election materials in Quetta City.
The ECP has prohibited the placement of election materials on all government properties, including buildings, poles, and bridges, as well as banned panaflex, hoardings, and billboards.
The ECP has urged all political parties and candidates to adhere to the code of conduct and warned that action will be taken against violators under the Election Act, 2017.
Additionally, the ECP’s monitoring teams have imposed fines on candidates for violating the election code in various constituencies across the country.
For example, a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate from PB-07 (Ziarat) was fined Rs 40,000, while fines of Rs 25,000, Rs 10,000, and Rs 10,000 were imposed on candidates from other constituencies.
