Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently became the target of deepfake technology, with a video of her endorsing a brand and disclosing her annual income at an event circulating.
This sparked discussions about her wealth and source of income, but it was later revealed that the video was fake. However, it was not the typical deepfake video where a celebrity’s face is morphed onto another individual engaging in controversial or inappropriate behavior.
Instead, in this case the creator replaced the actress’ voice and lines from an original video with fake brand promotion, making it difficult for viewers to discern the clip’s authenticity.
It’s worth noting that this video surfaced shortly after deepfake videos of other celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and Rashmika Mandanna had also made the rounds.

Rashmika Mandanna, speaking out about the rise in deepfake cases, expressed concern about the normalization of deepfake material and emphasized the importance of speaking up against it.
The ‘Animal’ star questioned who would even care if she chose to speak up and point out that it isn’t okay.
