This content is about an incident from six years ago. A friend of mine brought a young man to me who was Christian by religion and worked in a workshop. My friend said that the young man wanted to read the Quran and needed my help. I was surprised and told my friend that I am not a religious scholar and even I have not fully understood the Quran. I asked what can I teach him. My friend smilingly said, “The point is not that. In fact, he wants to read the translation and interpretation of the Quran without accepting Islam. If he understands Islam after that, he will become a Muslim.” I agreed but was still unsure about how to proceed with this issue. My friend then advised me to contact knowledgeable and pious scholars.
This incident took place ten years ago and the young man, who was a Christian, wanted to read the Quran with the translation and interpretation. He had expressed this desire two weeks ago, and upon hearing this, I was also afraid. Because if someone caught me involving an Christian in reading the Quran, I could also face repercussions. I have known him for ten years, he is a devout and righteous person. Two to three months passed with him studying Ibn Kathir’s interpretation, and finally, he accepted Islam.
However, the incident from four days ago in Sargodha left me with a heavy heart. A Christian family in Mujahid Colony was surrounded by a mob, and things escalated when a box of ‘sacred papers’ was found in front of their house. The situation quickly turned violent, with the family narrowly escaping harm. The police intervened, but the situation could not be contained. This incident reminded me of the young man who had once shown interest in reading the Quran.
Today, the most sacred church of Christians is known as Church of Resurrection or Church of Sepulchre. The key to this church has been in possession of a Muslim family for the past 1400 years. They are called the ‘People of Nobility’. It is astonishing to know that a Muslim family has been entrusted to guard the church in Israel, while in Pakistan, Muslims destroy the homes and businesses of fellow Muslims based on mere suspicions.
The difference between the Christians in Israel and Muslims in Pakistan is stark. While Muslims in Israel safeguard the churches entrusted to them, Muslims in Pakistan destroy homes and factories of their fellow Muslims on baseless suspicions. It makes one wonder, who are the real Muslims? The People of Nobility or the People of Mujahid Colony? You decide.
