Sam Asghari, the former husband of American popstar Britney Spears, recently disclosed allegations of violent attacks during their marriage, including an incident that left him with a black eye.
After 14 months of marriage, Iranian-born actor-model Sam Asghari, 29, filed for divorce from Britney Spears, 41, in Los Angeles Superior Court. This decision comes at the end of Spears’ legal conservatorship.
In a statement on Instagram, Asghari confirmed the split, stating that they have decided to end their journey together. Recent reports from a foreign-based tabloid, citing a source close to the former couple, suggest that Asghari frequently complained about violent physical attacks from Spears during their marriage. Security often had to intervene in these incidents.
According to Asghari, one particularly severe attack took place earlier this year when no security was present. During this incident, Spears allegedly flew off the handle and began punching him while he was asleep. As a result, he was left with a black eye and bite marks on his arm.
Asghari expressed particular concern as they had a fascination with knives and had them scattered throughout the house, including their bedroom. It is said that Spears was paranoid and believed the knives were necessary for her protection.
Representatives for Britney Spears have not yet commented on the divorce or these allegations.
In the meantime, Spears is preparing to publish her memoir, titled “The Woman in Me,” in October.
