Islamabad: Three individuals were arrested on suspicion of setting fire in the mountains of Margalla, while cases have been registered against 15 individuals.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Arif Nawaz Memon was present at the scene to assess the operation to extinguish the fire in the Margalla mountains and informed that precautionary measures have been taken to contain the fire within residential areas.
Arif Memon stated that firefighters and helicopters are participating in the operation to extinguish the fire, which is spreading due to the intensity of the heat and wind speed.
He mentioned that an investigation is underway with the arrested individuals and cases were also registered against 15 individuals involved in setting the fire two days ago.
DC Islamabad stated that further arrests will be made in the coming days regarding the fire in the mountains and urged the citizens to provide information about individuals involved in setting the fire.
