11 workers killed in a coal mine explosion in Balochistan

A blast occurred in a coal mine in Union Council Sanjdi, located 40 kilometers away from the provincial capital of Balochistan, resulting in the tragic death of eleven workers. Chief Mines Inspector Quetta Abdul Ghani explained that the incident occurred due to a gas leak in the coal mine of Yousaf Sanjdi, causing the deaths of 11 individuals, including 9 miners, one supervisor, and one mine manager.

The deceased individuals are reported to be from Swat and their bodies have been removed from the site and taken to the hospital. After necessary formalities and offering funeral prayers, the bodies will be taken to their ancestral areas.

A spokesperson for the Balochistan government stated that the blast occurred due to gas filling up in the coal mine, causing the explosion that led to the tragic deaths of eleven workers who were trapped underneath the rubble. The PDMA, district administration, and Mines Department have initiated rescue operations, while the provincial government has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and ordered an investigation into the incident.
