Islamabad: The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification for a reduction of only Rs. 4.74 in the price of petrol, while it has been revealed that a incorrect statement regarding the decrease in prices of petroleum products has been issued to the Prime Minister. According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol per liter has been reduced by Rs. 4.74 for the next fifteen days, while diesel has been reduced by 3.84 paisa.
After the recent reduction, the price of petrol per liter is now Rs. 268.36, while the price of diesel per liter is Rs. 270.22. The new prices will be applicable from midnight tonight until midnight on June fifteenth.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that a directive to reduce the prices of petroleum products has been issued from the Prime Minister House to Shahbaz Sharif, prompting the Prime Minister to express astonishment and form a committee to investigate the incident.
Earlier, it was reported that after receiving a summary from the Ministry of Finance, the Prime Minister had approved a reduction of Rs. 15.40 in the price of petrol and Rs. 7.90 in the price of diesel. In his statement, the Prime Minister had said that the government’s people-friendly policies had led to a significant decrease in inflation and economic stability.
