Islamabad: A government spokesperson has said that the courts need to realize that Safer is a reality and there can be no compromise on national security.
After the decision of the Islamabad High Court on the Safer case, government spokesperson Barrister Aqeel Malik said that Safer is a reality and cannot be ignored, the courts need to realize that it is a sensitive issue, and there can be no compromise on national security.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, he said that the detailed decision on Safer appeals will be reviewed, Safer is a reality that cannot be ignored.
The government spokesperson said that national security documents were waved in public gatherings for political purposes, a copy of the Safer document was lost while the Principal Secretary recorded a statement on it.
He said that playing politics on national security matters was a condemnable move, no country allows its national security to be played with.
Barrister Aqeel Malik said in a news conference that the country’s sovereignty is linked to national security matters, a decision to go for appeal after reading the persecution’s decision will be made, the courts need to see that this is a sensitive issue, not a normal matter. Playing with national security in the name of Safer will not be forgiven.
