CARDIFF: England’s captain Jos Buttler will not play in the third T20 against Pakistan due to family commitments. According to media reports, 33-year-old Jos Buttler and his wife Louise are expecting their third child, which is why he has taken leave, and did not participate in training sessions on Monday.
Jos Buttler had played an outstanding innings of 84 runs in the second T20 match against Pakistan. In Buttler’s absence, vice-captain Moeen Ali will lead the team. It is still unclear whether Buttler will return for the fourth and final one-day match.
The third T20 between Pakistan and England will be played on Tuesday night at 10:30 in Cardiff. There is a 92% chance of rain in Cardiff on the occasion, which could affect the match.
It should be noted that England had defeated Pakistan by 23 runs in the second T20 on Saturday, taking a 0-1 lead in the series. The first T20 in Leeds on Wednesday had to be abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain. The final match of the series will be played in Edgbaston on Thursday.
