Karachi: Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz has said that the system causing heavy rainfall in Karachi has moved away. Sarfraz issued a statement regarding the current weather and rainfall situation, informing about the recent developments. In his statement, he mentioned that a significant part of the western system responsible for intermittent and heavy rain has moved away and is gradually moving towards the east.

Sarfraz stated that there is a possibility of light rain and drizzle in various parts of the city by Friday night, but the city is expected to have clear skies throughout the week with no chance of rainfall. He also mentioned that the effects of cold winds after the rain could be felt in the city tonight, leading to a decrease of two to three degrees in temperature and an increase in coolness.

Prior to this, the Meteorological Department provided data on the rainfall in the city. According to the data, the highest rainfall was recorded at PAE Base Faisal (Shahrah-e-Faisal) with 14 millimeters of rainfall, followed by Kemari with 13 millimeters, Nazimabad with 12.5 millimeters, Surjani Town with 12.4 millimeters, and Saadi Town with 12 millimeters of rainfall.

Similarly, Orangi Town received 9.7 millimeters, DHA 9.5 millimeters, Gulshan-e-Iqbal 7.9 millimeters, PAE Base Masroor (Mauripur) and Qaidabad 7.5 millimeters, while Gulshan-e-Hadeed and Old Airport received 7 millimeters of rainfall. Jinnah Terminal recorded 6.4 millimeters, Korangi 6.3 millimeters, Malir 6 millimeters, and University Road received 5.7 millimeters of rainfall.
