The Health Department of Sindh has confirmed the 10th death caused by Nigerian Fulani fever last year. According to details, a 22-year-old student named Muhammad Arsal Beg, a resident of North Karachi District Central, lost his life due to Nigerian fever. Muhammad Arsal was brought to a private hospital on October 27. Muhammad Arsal’s PCR test came back positive for Nigeria fever. The coordinator for the collection of water samples in the affected area has been informed about the situation to obtain samples for testing. According to medical experts, the symptoms of Nigerian Fulani fever include headache, fever, nausea, vomiting, neck stiffness, altered mental state, and seizures. Nigerian Fulani fever is caused by a brain-eating amoeba. It can be easily killed with chlorine. Chlorine should be added to the city’s water tanks. The Health Department of Sindh has directed the public to take precautionary measures to prevent Nigerian fever. According to the recommended guidelines by experts, an appropriate amount of chlorine should be added to the water. This year, the number of deaths caused by Nigerian fever has reached 10.
