Incident in Madhya Pradesh: A heinous suspect in India targeted 7 students using an app that changes voices.

According to Indian media, this incident occurred in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. The suspect, Varjeesh Kushwaha, pretended to be a female professor using an app that changes voices, lured the college students with promises of scholarships, and then took them to a deserted area to sexually assault them.

Police stated that the suspect would tell the students in a female voice to meet him at a certain location, where he would send a man on a motorcycle to bring them to his house.

When the students arrived at the mentioned location, they would be led to a secluded place where they were targeted for assault. The suspect targeted at least seven students from a tribal college for sexual assault.

The affected students informed the police that the suspect would wear a helmet and gloves during the encounters. However, based on details found on the suspect’s hands, the police were able to track him down successfully.

Kushwaha, who had burned his hands while working in a rolling mill in Maharashtra, was finally arrested after a thorough investigation. He was apprehended with three accomplices on a daily basis and his house was also demolished with a bulldozer by the local authorities.

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, has assigned a special investigative team under the leadership of a female DSP to look into the case and determine how many more women the suspect has targeted for assault.

The Indian Cyber Cell has advised people to be cautious of misusing voice-changing apps in an advisory.
