Mumbai: Renowned Indian film producer Vikas Swarup has revealed that Bollywood mega star Shah Rukh Khan wanted to work in dramas instead of films.
Shah Rukh Khan is counted among the world’s biggest superstars, as the actor has gained fame not only in India but also at a global level. Famous as “King Khan”, Shah Rukh has had a long journey in Bollywood, during which he not only gained fame in India but also internationally. Vikas Swarup had helped him a lot at the beginning of his career in the acting world.
Recently, producer Vikas Swarup had given an interview to Indian television host Siddharth Kannan, in which he shared that Shah Rukh Khan’s mother was very ill, and he used to share details with me about his mother’s health moment by moment.
Vikas Swarup said that Shah Rukh Khan’s mother’s health deteriorated, so I used to buy expensive medicines for her and send them to Delhi through the actor’s friend. Unfortunately, Shah Rukh Khan’s mother passed away due to severe illness.
The producer said that after his mother’s passing, Shah Rukh Khan came to me and expressed his desire to work in films, even though he had previously stated that he would only work in dramas, not films. So, I asked him why films now?
Upon Vikas Swarup’s questioning, Shah Rukh Khan said that he now wants to work in films because it was his mother’s dream for him to become a superstar. So, by working in films, he wants to fulfill his mother’s dream.
He further said that I told Shah Rukh, “Okay”, to which the actor responded with, “Okay is not enough, promise me that you will give me work in films, or else I will never come to your house.”
It is clear that Shah Rukh Khan’s father Meer Taj Mohammad Khan passed away in 1981 and his mother Lateef Fatima passed away in 1988. After the demise of his parents, King Khan relocated from Delhi to Mumbai and chose to reside with his friend Anwar, and since then, he has been dominating the Bollywood film industry by giving one super hit film after another.
