Islamabad: The time for the election campaign for the general elections in 2024 has ended across the country.
According to Express News, all candidates and parties participating in the elections were directed to end the election campaign by 12 o’clock on the night of February 6, after which restrictions were imposed on rallies and processions.
The final election rally of the Muslim League-N was held in the area of Youhana Abad in Lahore, which was attended by a large number of people, while Chairman of the People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, addressed the final election rally in Larkana.
The head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, addressed the final election rally in D.I. Khan, while the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Siraj ul Haq, led a rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The final public gathering of the MQM’s election campaign took place in the Faisal Star Chorangi area of Central District, where a large number of workers participated and addressed by Mustafa Kamal and Khalid Maqbool.
In Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman addressed rallies and gatherings in various areas on the final day, which ended with a spectacular fireworks display at Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
According to the Election Commission spokesperson, after the end of the deadline for the election campaign, there is a ban on promoting advertisements and other written materials on electronic and print media that may raise suspicions of supporting or opposing any particular political party or candidate.
According to the Election Commission, all kinds of polling surveys on the media will also be banned until the conclusion of the electoral process. An hour after the end of media polling, the announcement of results can begin, clearly stating that these results are unofficial and non-governmental.
According to the Election Commission, strict action will be taken on the code of conduct for electronic and print media, and instructions have been issued to PEMRA and PTA to take legal action against violations.
