The Department of Interior Punjab has issued a notification for the implementation of Section 144 across the province to maintain peace and security during the elections. According to the details provided in the notification, the display of all types of weapons will be restricted under Section 144. The notification also enforces a complete ban on firing during the election campaign and polling, as well as on violations of election code of conduct. The Department of Interior Punjab has immediately implemented Section 144 in view of the concerns of clashes between candidates and their supporters during the general elections, which will remain in effect until February 12th.
