Last year, more than 58,500 motorcycles worth millions of rupees were stolen and snatched from the citizens, while the daily number of motorcycle thefts exceeded 162.
Every hour in the city, 6 motorcycles were stolen or snatched, last year only 261 cars were snatched, while in the previous year there were 161 imports of car snatching. There has been a 62% increase in car theft imports compared to last year.
Last year, there was a record increase of 55% in motorcycle theft imports, and a record increase of 62% in car theft imports. The Citizen Police Liaison Committee reported that during 2023, armed dacoits easily snatched more than 27,681 mobile phones worth crores of rupees from the citizens.
The report also stated that in the past year, the theft of motorcycles increased by 55%, and the theft of cars increased by 62%. The report also highlighted that more than 135 citizens lost their lives due to dacoity resistance, while hundreds were injured by dacoits, some of whom were permanently disabled.

Citizens demanded justice and stated that officers will have to come out of their comfortable offices and patrolling cars, and come to the streets and alleys so that citizens can feel that the police will protect their lives and property. If the situation does not improve, jungle law will be imposed in the city.
