In Rawalpindi, a government official who spread terror by firing a government rifle in front of his in-laws due to his wife’s dissatisfaction has been arrested, initiating departmental action. According to details, after the video of the police officer involved in the incident came to light, action was taken.
Upon receiving notice from the Rawalpindi CPO Khalid Hamdani, police officer Faisal Latif was arrested and a case was registered under the Police Order and Murder Prevention Act. The accused police officer Faisal Latif was charged based on the complaint of his in-laws.
The case stated that the son-in-law Faisal Latif, who had been married to their daughter, had three daughters. His behavior towards their daughter was not good, and he used to physically abuse her. Three months ago, their daughter came to their house dissatisfied, where the son-in-law Faisal Latif came with a government rifle and started shooting after hitting the door.
The police officer from Rawalpindi did not fire to protect looters, dacoits, or anti-social elements, but rather the wife of this poor man was dissatisfied, so he turned the in-laws’ house into a training board. He said, “When I went outside from the upper portion of the house, the son-in-law started firing a government rifle from there, during the firing bullets hit the door, fortunately, I and my family remained safe.”
It is mentioned in the FIR that the son-in-law misused his uniform as a police officer and threatened serious consequences by attacking with a government rifle. The police authorities reached the spot on a call on the Rescue 15 and controlled the armed officer.
The CPO Khalid Hamdani said that the police officer has been arrested and a case has been registered, and departmental action has also been initiated. Exceeding authority and law-breaking is intolerable. He said that police officers should be more cautious in their behavior, and those who harm institutional dignity will be dealt with severely.
