Karachi: A bomb was discovered on the train coming from Peshawar to Karachi at Cantonment Station. The suspicious bag was found beneath seats 71 and 72 during the cleaning of train number five of Tezgam Express, and railway officials immediately informed the police. Upon arrival, police and rangers cordoned off the platform and then the area. The bomb disposal squad was called in, and upon examination, a bomb was found in the bag and rendered harmless. Police reported that the total weight of the device was five kilograms, with two kilograms of explosives used, and the device was connected to a motorcycle battery. It was also reported that the IED was attached to a timer, but timely action led to it being rendered harmless. On the other hand, the police department has initiated measures to search the passengers of the mentioned seats.
