Islamabad: Finance Minister Dr. Shaukat Tareen has said that the IMF program will not put any further burden on the public.
After holding talks with IMF officials, Finance Minister Dr. Shaukat Tareen, in an informal conversation with the media, said that no further burden will be imposed on the public and the tax target of 9.415 trillion rupees will remain unchanged.
He said that the federal government will adopt the austerity policy to reduce expenditures, assure IMF by confirming reduction in expenses and control budget deficits.
He said that the dialogue with the IMF is progressing in a positive manner and IMF has full confidence in the measures taken by the government.
The Finance Minister informed that IMF has expressed satisfaction on the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program and development spending.
