Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice to initiate proceedings against genocide in Palestine, stating that the United Nations Security Council and the global fraternity should take immediate action on the ICJ’s decision to stop Israeli operations in Gaza.
Reacting to the ICJ’s decision to immediately halt operations in Rafah, Shahbaz Sharif stated that acting on the ICJ’s decision to stop operations in Rafah will pave the way for world peace.
He praised the thirteen judges who decided in favor of the rights of the oppressed humanity and filed a petition in South Africa. Shahbaz Sharif mentioned that Pakistan had supported the petition of South Africa and will continue to fight the case of all Palestinians in the future.
Prime Minister said that in accordance with the judicial decision, the UN’s investigative commission should be granted immediate access to Gaza and Rafah, the ICJ’s decision is a victory for the oppressed, actions should be taken on the decision, paths should be opened, and immediate provision of food and medical assistance should be ensured so that the oppressed can receive relief.
The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan will continue to play its role in protecting the fundamental human and legal rights of the oppressed Palestinians.
