Islamabad: The Anti-Corruption Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) took four former officials of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) into custody in a case involving the issuance of fake identity cards to foreigners.
According to details, significant progress in the illegal implementation of identity cards was made when the FIA’s Anti-Corruption Circle in Islamabad took action and arrested four officers of NADRA involved in making fake identity cards.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrested individuals include Tahir, Adnan, Amir, and Taib, who were appointed as Deputy Directors and Senior Executives in Mega Central.
According to the FIA, the suspects issued identity cards to foreigners in 2019 and 2020 and included Afghan citizens with Pakistani families using biometric data of various individuals.
During the investigation, it was also revealed that the suspects, with the help of accomplices and drug addicts, completed the process by presenting Afghan citizens as parents and issuing identity cards.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the suspects received substantial amounts of money in the process of issuing identity cards and issued several identity cards.
