Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has rejected the request for an immediate stay on Imran Khan’s jail trial in the 190 million pound and Toshakhana NAB cases. During the hearing on the PTI founder’s NAB case, the Chief Justice remarked that it is better to correct any flaws in the trial right now. Lawyer Shoaib Shahin requested for a stay on the trial until the next hearing, stating that the trial court has collected statements from eleven witnesses and asked for the stay. Chief Justice Athar Farooq stated that it is not clear which trial is currently underway and they will decide at the next hearing. The court also ordered the Additional Attorney General to provide a copy of the federal government’s report to Shoaib Shahin. Shahin also stated that if the court does not issue a stay on the trial court’s proceedings, the hearing should be postponed until tomorrow, to which the court agreed and postponed the hearing of the case until tomorrow.
