Karachi: Frustrated citizens have taken the law into their own hands in response to the reign of dacoits, according to Express News.
Yesterday, in District Korangi’s Zaman Town, near Sector 51-C, citizens severely injured two dacoits involved in looting, by firing at them. The injured dacoits were taken to Jinnah Hospital by rescue officials, where they were identified as 28-year-old Aabid and 30-year-old Mehtab.
According to rescue officials, the wounded dacoits were shot in the chest and are in critical condition. After the dacoits’ attempt to flee, the citizens caught and subjected them to violence. During this time, an agitated civilian took a pistol from the dacoits and injured them by firing. Police recovered 2 TT pistols, 2 mobile phones, a press, cash, and a motorcycle from the dacoits.
It is evident that due to the ineffective functioning of the police, there is a strong backlash from the public against the unrestrained dacoits. This was clearly demonstrated in December last year, when citizens took matters into their own hands and brought 7 dacoits to a logical conclusion by holding their own trials on the streets for 4 days.
The citizens killed 3 dacoits in Orangi Town, 2 in Surjani Town, 1 in Korangi, and 1 in Mominabad, indicating the extent to which the public is inflamed against the heinous dacoits and are dealing with them without concern for their own safety.
