According to the Election Commission’s statistics, compared to the elections in 2013 and 2018, candidates broke all records of filing nomination papers. More than 7,000 nomination papers were filed this time, compared to the previous elections.
It has been reported in the statistics that in the general elections of 2018, 21,482 papers were filed, while in the recent general elections, 28,626 nomination papers were filed.
On the national assembly’s general seats, 5473 candidates participated in the previous elections, while this time 7713 candidates entered the field. In Islamabad and Punjab, 2700 candidates participated in the previous election, while 4039 candidates came forward this time.
Similarly, in Balochistan, 435 candidates participated in the 2018 elections, while in the general elections, 631 candidates came forward. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 992 candidates participated in the general seats of the national assembly in 2018, while 1322 candidates came forward this time.
According to the statistics, 1346 candidates filed nomination papers from Sindh in 2018, while 1681 candidates came forward in the recent elections. In the previous elections, 6747 candidates filed nomination papers for the Punjab assembly seats, while 929 candidates filed nomination papers in the recent general elections.
Similarly, in the previous general elections, 436 nomination papers were filed for the special seats for women in the national assembly, while 459 nomination papers were filed specifically by women in the recent elections.
