Karachi: According to the health department, 4 cases of a new variant of the coronavirus (JN-1) have been reported.
According to the spokesperson of the health department, the new variant Omicron is a subtype of the virus, and all affected individuals showed mild symptoms of the new coronavirus variant and have recovered without any complications.
Health Minister Dr. Nadim Jan said that the situation is being closely monitored, and border health services, national and provincial health authorities, labs are fully active and vigilant for the management of diseases.
He also mentioned that an effective screening system is in place at all international airports and borders, border health services are implementing the recommendations of the International Health Regulations, and the federal and provincial authorities are on high alert.
