Karachi: Armed suspects in the town municipality carried out a hand grenade attack and firing on a house before fleeing, resulting in three people getting injured.
According to sources, in the Patni neighborhood of the town municipality, armed motorcyclists inquired about a person named Iqbal and then threw a hand grenade outside the house and started firing. In the hand grenade attack, three people were injured while the suspects managed to escape.
SSP Kemari Faizan Ali, after examining the incident, stated that armed suspects riding two motorcycles inquired about a citizen named Iqbal, then threw a hand grenade present in a black bag and also started firing. in the hand grenade attack, Iqbal, a child present in the street, and two unidentified individuals were injured.
SSP Kemari mentioned that the citizen named Iqbal did not receive any threats, investigations are ongoing, and bullet casings were also found at the scene, which have been taken into custody.
He said that CCTV footage of the incident has also been obtained, in which armed suspects riding two motorcycles with helmets and caps on can be seen fleeing after carrying out the hand grenade attack and firing.
After the explosion, the bomb disposal squad has examined the incident and issued a report stating that the suspects used an RG-1 hand grenade, the fragments of which have been collected by the bomb disposal squad.
On the other hand, footage of the suspects fleeing after carrying out the hand grenade attack on the house has surfaced, showing 4 suspects riding on 2 motorcycles fleeing a few minutes before Iqbal’s house was attacked. Three of the suspects were wearing caps, and one suspect sitting in the back of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet.
