Karachi: A steel trader who refused to pay extortion in the Timber Market in Quaid City was murdered, while dacoits took the life of a young man in Orangi Town.

According to Express News, 40-year-old trader Shahzad Jaffrani, who traded in steel in the famous Timber Market in Karachi, was killed by armed assailants in his shop and they easily escaped. Shahzad Jaffrani was a resident of Bahadurabad and a father of three children.

SSP City Imtiaz Hyat said that armed assailants on two motorcycles fired at the shop near Mewa Shah Mosque in the Timber Market, as a result of which the shop owner Shahzad Jaffrani was killed.

After the trader’s murder, a large number of shopkeepers reached the scene of the incident and the Crime Scene Unit examined the site. SSP City said that 2 bullet shells and 1 casing of a 9mm pistol were found at the scene, which were taken into custody.

After the firing, the body of the trader Shahzad Jaffrani was shifted to the hospital for legal action and after the legal formalities, the body was handed over to the relatives. The tragic murder left everyone in tears and the relatives were stricken with grief.

Traders on the occasion said that the import of extortion in the city has started to increase again and traders are receiving extortion notices. The police are failing to take action against the extortionists, which has resulted in the murder of Shahzad Jaffrani.

Young man murdered outside his home in Orangi
In a tragic incident during the ongoing dacoit rule in Orangi Town, heartless dacoits took the life of another young man on resisting them.

According to initial information, during the incident near Bengali Pada Masjid in Sector 14 B of Orangi Town, dacoits riding on a motorcycle shot and killed 25-year-old Raheel outside his house while trying to steal his mobile phone.

According to initial information, the victim was using a mobile phone while sitting outside his house when dacoits arrived. The young man confronted one of the dacoits, but in the meantime, one of his other accomplices fired at him.

Raheel was shot in the chest and he succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while the dacoits managed to escape from the scene. 2 bullet holes and 5 live rounds were found at the scene. The victim was unmarried and worked at a garment factory.

The ruthless firing by dacoits in the city resulted in the deaths of 131 citizens and injuries to hundreds during the past year.

High-ranking police officials in the city claim a decrease in street crimes, but ground realities show the opposite.
